I also saw the MTV Real World show where there was a transgender. I think people act a certain way towards others because they do not understand the other person. I think in some fashion or another we can relate to the fact that "ignorance is bliss". People tend to be scared of that which they do not understand. Although, it doesn't give people the right to treat them like any less of a human being. Our author even indicates that these topics and their corresponding views are ever changing. Hopefully the class can teach us all a little something.
